I totally agree that the cinematography is outstanding and it could easily have been half the picture if not the story, message and acting were up to par. But they are so this is a complete picture. My favorite character was Jane Darwell's Ma Joad. I believe her completely and I so root for her. You are right, other actresses might have been shrill or loud, but Darwell does it with the right amount of intensity. You feel her pain and sorrow, but also her will to make it work and her heart is big enough for the entire family.<br />TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672005424133365490.post-16446235286952359582012-02-04T14:23:20.148-05:002012-02-04T14:23:20.148-05:00Dawn, I do believe amazingly is a word! The performances are also amazingly(is that a word?) real. The Grapes of Wrath is an excellent film.Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03476174860119487509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672005424133365490.post-61183234170212793862012-01-30T14:29:34.197-05:002012-01-30T14:29:34.197-05:00Thanks FlickChick.
