LOL i suppose like Sam in Casablanca (have to admit i never really sat down to compare the two movies like that, there are indeed many similarities)

Terribly saddened by Bacall's passing, she was one of the last direct bridges to "Old Hollywood", heck she supposedly gave the Rat Pack its' name, how cool is that? She was awesome in this movie, with all that sexual tension (at 19 years old!!!!) in Hays Code-era Hollywood. Those poor censors.Bobbynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672005424133365490.post-84971786411731319572014-08-21T12:52:07.491-04:002014-08-21T12:52:07.491-04:00It's always sad when a classic movie actor/act...It's always sad when a classic movie actor/actress passes on, as they were from a totally different age of cinema. Bacall was the reason to envy Bogart and her recent demise made me very sad indeed.TSorensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12208153011927807857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672005424133365490.post-33915241448983561612014-08-21T06:48:16.816-04:002014-08-21T06:48:16.816-04:00Agreed completely. Casablanca is the natural comparison here, and Casablanca is so superior that it's not even funny.

I do love Walter Brennan, though, and I love him here.
